Parsons The New School for Design, commonly known Parsons School of Design or simply Parsons, is the art and design faculty of The New School university in New York. In 2015, it topped the list of QS World University Rankings as the best art and design school in the United States.

Studying at Parsons doesn’t come cheap. Each academic year costs some 70,000 euros, including accommodation, meaning that not just anyone has access. But plenty of well-known faces in the worlds of fashion, film and literature have passed through its lecture theatres…

Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodríguez, Donna Karan, Anna Sui, Alexander Wang and Jason Wu are just a few of the illustrious former students of Parsons.Also Claire McCardell (1905-1958), one of the most influential designers of the 40s; fashion model Bella Hadid, Brooklyn Beckham (son of David and Victoria Beckham) and acclaimed photographer Steven Meisel.

In the world of literature and publishing, there’s Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of VOGUE and creator of the CR Fashion Book magazine, who studied Fashion and Communication at Parsons. And, as it happens, Gori Vicens, the creator and director of Fantastic Guest and dpmagazine (fantasticguest. com and also studied there.

What’s more, the school’s corridors have been graced by royalty and celebrities: Nicky Hilton, Lauren Bush, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Andrea Casiraghi among others.
