She’s been compared to Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Adele and many other relevant artists in the music industry. Nominated for the “Best New Artist” category for 2019 Grammy Awards and praised by some of the most important music critics. Who is this R&B rising star?

Her name is Jorja Smith once you’ve listened to her music, it will be hard to forget her name. This young English singer and songwriter born in Walsall, UK (1997) came into sudden prominence in 2016 by releasing Blue Light, her debut song, which reached more than 400,000 plays within a month. The origin of her music talent dates back to her childhood, since she has been writing songs from the age of 11.

Her second song, Where Did I Go, has been appreciated so much from Drake that he mentioned it as his new favourite song and asked her to feature two tracks of his album More Life.

After such glorious first steps in this environment, she was nominated as one of the best new fifteen acts on BBC Music Sound of 2017 and worked with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Kali Uchis and Alex da Kid. No wonders that despite being only 21 years old, Jorja’s great personality makes her talk about deep topics like politics and social stereotypes in her music.

Jorja Smith’s 2019 tour will take her performance all around the world so catch the rhythm and get the chance to listen to her music live!
